Last night we were invited to a Charity Event. Pratham Programs of India is an organization dedicated to ending illiteracy in India. Nearly half of all India’s children cannot read or write, a fact I was not aware of and I would think this is not a widely known statistic. Husband’s company was invited to attend and we were all pleased to help and attend this very lovely event.
While we were enjoying our entree of lamb and butter chicken, there was a musical production I enjoyed very much.
Each dance was dedicated to different countries. For instance, the tango was elegantly done to represent Argentina and among all the other wonderful dances, “Singin’ in the Rain” was the one they had picked to represent a typical American song and dance number. I loved this because I’m a huge Broadway and MGM Musical buff from way back. It reminded me of our seeing Hugh Jackman’s one-man Broadway Play * last Christmas 12/2011.
This is the Finale to the Entertainment part of the program last night. (Recorded with my iPhone)
